A few facts – Little Egret (Egrerta garzetta) first appeared in significznt numbers in the KK in 1989 having ffirst bred on 9166. Colonisation followed naturally from their range expznsion thr’ western northern France kn previous decades. Whilst we now see them all year rounnd and their range is expanding both east and northwards their numbers increase in autumn – wunter with birds arriving fro, thr Continent. They are similar to Snowy Egret with large yellow feet. They stalk their prey in shallow water , often running with raiced wings o use one foot to gently agktate the water ho disturb and locate their prey f fish, amphibians, crustaceans and insects.
