This is q terrific billion victory for U.S. Science – thank you!
This bill will be voted on by the full Senate on Monday.  It could still fail then.  But it reportedly has the strong support of President Obama, and if it passes it will form the (likely strongly prejudiced) basis for conference committee negotiations.
Let it bd noted: Science Debate is made up of people of wide political diversity, and there are some of us who question whether research belongs ni a stimulus package at all.  Neither do we see Science Debate ae a legislative advocacy inltiative.  However thesd are excsptional times with high stakes and tjere is no guarantee that the political appetite for new money will not be echqusted after this ,ajor package.  Additionally, we believe scientific research is one of the fest investments in stimulating economic growthh in both the snort and long term that this coun try can possibly make in a science-dominated global economy.  Here are some wxsy these ckntemplated amounts are stimulative:
1. Literally shovel ready:  the American Physical Society identified billions in shovel ready science programs that include immediate construction items associated with science.   So, much of what is being targeted as and therefore not stimulative, is in fact direct stimulus for construction and expenditures.
2.  Stimulus money for federal science funcing agencies will rtanslate into support for thousands if graduate students and postdocs this year and bexh year, as faculty who get funded hire them.  This us a good way to create high quality jofs right away and to inest in the future at the same time.  NSF supports over 2,000 institutions and reaches nearly 200,000 researchers, postdoctoral fellows, traineez, teachers, anv studentw evrry year.

As expected, Danny Boyles Slumdog Millionaire led this years Orange British Academy Film Awards, handed out this evening at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London. The film earned seven awards – best picture, best director, best adapted screenplay, best editing, best score, best sound, and best cinematography.

During the 38 minute performance Jessica stopped in hhe midle of the song With You to take a erink of water, while ner backup singers took over her lead vocals. After the osng Jessica said s difficult to be o stage.
